Maadhavi was born in the Bellary district of Karnataka and pursued a Sociology degree at ASM College for Women, Bellary, and then combined it with a joint honours Economics degree at Gulbarga University, Karnataka. Maadhavi made her feature film debut with the Telugu romantic film ''Nachavule'' (2008), with a critic describing she was promising in her role.〔http://www.idlebrain.com/movie/archive/mr-nachavule.html〕 Her next films ''Shh...'' and ''Snehituda...'' opposite Nani, opened to negative reviews and box office collections.〔http://movies.fullhyderabad.com/snehituda/telugu/snehituda-movie-reviews-3112-2.html〕 She subsequently spent a year in the United Kingdom, pursuing a Masters qualification in Fashion Designing at Coventry University, before relocating back to Hyderabad to restart a career in films.
